Bentonite is an aluminum silicate clay absorbent, mainly constitute of montmorillonite. After mixing with water it becomes drilling fluid and will be pumped out through drill pipes by high pressure mud pump, provides lubrication to drill string, hydraulic power to drill bit to increase cutting and cooling drill bit, bring the drill cuttings out of bore hole and stabilize the bore hole.
